e-Core, a global software engineering company, was rapidly expanding into new markets in the U.S. The fast pace of growth created new challenges for managers who led teams of software analysts, developers, web designers, and support engineers. CEO Marcio Silveira recognized his young, high-energy managers needed to develop new competencies to manage increasing workloads, guide teams for strong performance, and promote innovation and new product development.
WHAT WAS OUR SOLUTION?
Boston Global designed a one-year learning program to build skills in core areas: goal setting, meeting management, decision making, and innovation and creativity. With the help of one-on-one coaching, group projects, video workshops, an online learning platform and self-study, managers became equipped to handle new workloads and lead their teams effectively to reach performance goals. The program finished with an exciting one-day project for groups to present a creative idea for a new product or service to senior management. Participants won awards and learned to think about solving old problems in new ways.
WHAT WERE THE BUSINESS OUTCOMES?
CEO Marcio Silveira reported that eCore managers are more competitive globally and prepared for greater responsibilities: “Strong leadership is key in any professional services firm such as e-Core. We are in a better place today than we were a year ago, thanks to Boston Global.”
